Repeated Phrases

The text is broken into overlapping word groups (n-grams) of the length you choose. Any group that appears more than once is flagged. Repetition of a distinctive multi-word phrase often signals copy-paste padding, an unintentional duplicate, or reusing wording from an earlier draft; this is the classic marker of accidental self-plagiarism.

Patchwriting Patterns

Patchwriting is paraphrasing that stays too close to the source; the writer swaps a few words but keeps the original sentence skeleton. Long stretches of a repeated phrase, especially the same opener reused across paragraphs, are highlighted more strongly (shown in red) so you can rewrite them in your own structure.

Quote Density

Text inside straight or curly quotation marks is detected and its share of the total word count is reported. Heavy reliance on direct quotes, even when properly attributed, can read as over-quoting and weaken your own voice. A common guideline is to keep quoted material under roughly 10-15% of an essay.

Self-Check Rating

The overview gives a quick rating combining how many repeated phrases were found and how much of the text is quoted. A rating of "Clear" means little repetition and light quoting; "Review" and "Rework" suggest you revisit the highlighted passages before submitting. The rating is guidance, not a grade.
